Using two achromatic lenses as a pair can achieve excellent performance in imaging applications. The TECHSPEC Achromat Prototype System allows for experimentation with different focal length ratios to obtain various magnifications and actual field sizes. The camera sensor and subject are positioned at the focal points on both the image side and object side of the two achromatic lenses used. The lens's F-number can be adjusted by changing the aperture size using the aperture kit included with the achromat prototype kit. At this time, the aperture is used between the two achromatic lenses (the aperture is not threaded).
